Service Description

Think of an AKC Rally event as a team sport but instead of another person, you're working with your dog. You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer him through a course of 10-20 different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The dog and handler move continuously throughout the course with the dog under control at the handler’s left side. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. Although each performance is timed, having a good race time is not the goal; it’s all about working as a team while performing the skills, with the dog under control. This course will teach you everything you need to know so you and your dog can successfully compete in AKC Rally matches. It’s a perfect starting point for those who are new to canine sports, as AKC Rally provides a challenging introduction to all AKC Companion Events for dogs and handlers to strengthen their skills. We can help you build a stronger bond with your dog and establish the proper relationship necessary to have a well behaved dog. Bring your dog's most recent vaccination records, treats, and a regular leash. No flexi-leads! This is a 7 week course. Free Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing done at the conclusion of the course. Price for the class includes a 5% convenience fee for paying in advance for the class online. You may wait until the first day of class and pay with check or cash and pay $90.
