Fun at the DeLand Dog Parade

Krewe of Amalee held their annual dog parade through downtown DeLand this past Saturday. It's was a beautiful day for the parade and thousands of people turned out to see all the floats and parade participants.

The theme of the parade was Super Heroes and WVKC put together a float to honor our Everyday Heroes like police officers, firefighters, EMTs, nurses, and other people in the community that act as heroes on a regular basis. Krewe of Amalee did a fantastic job and the parade was a big hit with everyone.

The video I posted is the entire parade. If you just want to check out the club's float, it enters the picture at approximately 39:25.

A special shout out to one of WVKC's very own, my wife Maria. Her and our neighbor won Best Duo and got to walk up near the front of the parade along with all the other winners in the costume contest. She was dressed up as Sweet Polly Purebred with one of our corsos as Underdog and another as one of his antagonist, Riff Raff. Our neighbor was Riff Raff's handler and was dressed up as a classic mobster. You can see them come into the picture around the 4:25 mark.

Enjoy the parade.

Love the Post about the Deland dog parade!

All of club members worked hard to put the float together and it looked fantastic!

It awesome to see the parade in video because being in the parade you miss the viewing from the side lines.
