What exactly is Conformation?
While a dog show may look like a beauty pageant, it’s not. Dogs are not being compared to each other, they’re being measured by how closely they conform to the standard of their particular breed. Why? Because the closer a dog’s appearance is to the breed’s standard, the better that dog’s ability will be to produce puppies that meet the standard.

As one of the most popular AKC events, conformation events range from large all-breed shows, with over 3,000 dogs entered, to small local specialty club shows that feature only one breed.
​
Conformation shows are a great place to go to see all the wide variety of breeds that have been bred all across the world. From Chow Chows originating in China to Chihuahuas heralding from Mexico, there are all kind of amazing dogs to see at a conformation show.

Immediately before Best in Show, we will have a Best of the Best Junior Competition.
The best Junior* from Friday-Saturday-Sunday will compete for the honor of Best of the Best Junior.
Judges are Milton Lopes, Cathy Driggers, and Terry Wagner
The winner will receive a rosette and a $250 Amazon Gift Card!
* If an exhibitor wins Best Junior Handler on multiple days, the entry for Best of the Best will go to the Reserve Best Junior Handler at the show(s) following the first of the multiple Best Junior Handler wins.
